Manamoc is an island barangay in the Sulu Sea, in the northeastern part of the province of Palawan in the Philippines. Three miles northeast of Manamoc is the exclusive resort of Amanpulo, on Pamalican Island. Tourism and infrastructure on the island are still developing, becoming sought-after for tourists and renowned for its highly endangered biodiversity, remote islands, stunning sandbars, and rich marine food sources that add charm to foreign travelers.
In July 2024, Madame PH partnered with Mutya ng Manamoc, a local organization in the community for female beauty pageants. The candidates were sponsored with small batches of wardrobes and handcrafted jewelry made by the community of local artisans. It aimed to showcase Filipino artistry and craftsmanship, despite the quick shift of a mass-produced economy that led to a highly commercialized era we live in today. To highlight the advocacy of the pageant towards responsible tourism and community building, the adornment and clothing worn by the beautiful candidates are made of eco-base, repurposed, and sustainable raw materials that are ethically sourced in many parts of the Philippines, which aligns with the tagline of Madame PH; GAWANG PINOY, GALING NG PINOY!
The three candidates bagged the winning crowns and titles namely; Fatima Dalingding Sayad (Mutya ng Manamoc 2024 Grand Winner), Pauline Isdal (Mutya ng Manamoc 2024 – Turismo), and Bea Elaine Abian (Mutya ng Manamoc – Pangaboian). Through the mentorship of their Pageant & Creative Director, Edrian Dalingding, the ladies were taught not only powerful struts on stage and social graces. They are also inspired about the embodiment of the Filipino’s inherent hospitality that exudes authenticity, warmth, and deep-rooted passion for service. Edrian is also an associate member of butler service team in luxury resort, passionate about making meaningful opportunities that will give back for the community of Manamoc.
