Growing up in a business environment and
first-hand training from my parents, I started
selling at tender age. Through my strong
background in the hospitality & travel
industry, Kate’s Treat was born, aimed for
delighting clients & customers not just with
delicious foods, but also to relive Filipino
traditions in gifting and courtship, which I
even sing for them known as “Pa-Harana”.In 2022, I was awarded by the Provincial
Government of Aurora in National Women’s
Month for Inspiring Entrepreneurship. A year
after, we opened a local café with a range of
product offerings from specialty donuts to
handcrafted tea & coffee, breakfast and kiddie
meals. This is also a meeting & events place
for small gatherings and special celebrations.

How do you envision yourself in 5-10 years?
As a woman, I am hopeful to see myself aging gracefully, stronger in spirit, and mentally engrossed. These are not just wishes, but a responsibility for myself and the people around me. My life routine involves making connections, creating meaningful experiences, and managing a team. When I feel I am enough and ready for a bigger role, it also means that I am good at giving what I have. Cliché as it sounds, you cannot give what you do not have.
Having a life and business partner, Romel gives me a better
perspective that couples should work together and complement each other, instead of competing or fighting. While we manage two different businesses, we respect our individuality and craft. We look forward each day to celebrating both our strengths and weaknesses. This is something we pray for, that no matter what season, we have each other to GROW through life with.As for the business, we are open to franchise opportunities and expanding branches in the province or metropolitan in the future. We are inspired by a vision that a local brand owned by Filipino entrepreneurs, can thrive, and serve with impact and purpose.
Share your personal tips about SELF- LOVE & SELF-CARE in empowering yourself and the women around you.
Love emanates from within so we should learn to
take good care of ourselves in order to share the love with others. Take a break and unwind rather than our own body will be forced to take a break for us in the form of illnesses. Whenever I get the chance to travel, I do as this is my form of therapy— travel makes me feel empowered!Furthermore, loving and caring for yourself also
means taking your mental health a top priority. It’s okay to say “NO”, and distance yourself from any toxicity or anything that is unkind for your well- being. How you treat yourself is a mirror on how others will treat you. So, treat yourself well!
What qualities or fashion sense/style do you have that aligns to MADAME PH Brand?
MADAME PH as a local brand is giving a luxurious
vibe, yet grounded in messaging. Browsing through
their online platforms—is a sensory experience.
Product offerings are unique and affordable,
having good quality & craftsmanship. It does not
follow the crowd or what is trending. Just like a
Filipina woman, it has an air of mystery, subtle,
graceful, and easy on the eyes to get charmed.I love that they are eco-conscious, supporting local
artisans, and promoting Filipino artistry. Truly, a
pride of Gawang Pinoy, Galing ng Pinoy!

In a world of quick shift to mass- produced economy and the challenges of colonial mentality, what do you think are the initiatives or mindset change need to be made so we can encourage Filipinos on mindful purchasing by supporting local brands and sustainable local products?
Sustainability in giant companies or brands is more of a
business façade or marketing props. This is saddening.
It’s high time that we practice “green initiatives”, with
utmost honesty and sincere intentions. Should we aim
to creating long term value for stakeholders, we need to
delve further on ethical, social, environmental, cultural
and economic impacts of doing business. WE should
start the switch NOW, even with small but strategic
steps. Business owners and government leaders can
start with internal discussion within the team, by
implementing sensible policies, laws & local ordinances,
creative campaigns, and relatable messaging that can
be made accessible online, especially for the younger
generation who are exposed to anything misleading or
glamorized trends that lacks core values and depth.In local communities, LGUs should also take the lead to
educate the people, promote & support local products.
Why is it still important to celebrate the Filipino artistry and craftsmanship, despite the modern era we live in today?
Our rich Filipino tradition is our identity. It is our
responsibility to preserve its significance and legacy. As
an entrepreneur, travel & events specialist, I don’t only
create products and sell experiences. Our brand of
service and team spirit is a representation of Filipino
culture; warm, gracious, vibrant, and cheerful. The
